Top quality meat is always sought by Chris who picks out his own meat at market to ensure it is of the quality that he demands.
Beef All of our beef comes from Mathers of Inverine, Scotland and is sold under the ‘Specially Selected Scotch Beef’ banner. Mathers supply beef of the highest quality, which has been born and reared only in Scotland. The beef has generally been hung for at least 3 weeks prior to sale to ensure its tenderness and flavour. High welfare standards are also strictly adhered to.
Pork Our pork is locally produced Free Range from farms in Kent and Sussex which is Free Food Approved. The pork is reared to the highest nutritional standards giving the meat its flavour and tenderness. When curing our own gammons and bacon this is the pork that we use.
Lamb The lamb that we sell is the finest quality British Lamb. Whenever possible we sell lamb from the Isle of Man as it is consistently tender and tasty with the right amount of fat cover. However, the time of year can dictate where the best lamb comes from within Britain.
Traceability is an important factor when we purchase our meat and this is done by buying only from reputable wholesalers.
